ABOUT

Misdee and James Miller were proud to host the inaugural 2019 Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event (CDE) at Hillcroft Farm in Paris, Kentucky. The Kentucky Classic CDE began in 2011 on the grounds of the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park, just north of Lexington, Kentucky. In that first year, the event was honored to use the world-class marathon obstacles that had been designed and built the year prior for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (although they were, of course, decorated differently in 2011!).

In 2011, the Kentucky Classic CDE was honored to host the USEF National Pony Driving Championships (for Singles, Pairs, and Four-In-Hand Teams). In 2013, the Kentucky Classic CDE hosted the USEF National Championships for Single Horses and Four-In-Hand Teams of Horses. In 2014, the Kentucky Classic CDE was proud to host the 2014 USEF National Championships for Pairs and Ponies. In 2015, the Kentucky Classic CDE was proud to host the 2015 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Four-In-Hand Championship.

In 2019, the Kentucky Classic CDE moved “home” to Misdee and James Miller’s private Hillcroft Farm in Paris, Kentucky, and featured some of the top competitors in the country. With a state-of-the-art course designed by world-class course designer Richard Nicoll and built by Eric Bull / ETB Equine Construction, it was an exciting event!

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, Hillcroft Farm hosted the 2021 Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event. The event was proud to host the USEF Pairs National Championships, won by Jacob Arnold.

The next event, a Short Format Driving Event held over two days (instead of three!) is scheduled for July 22-23, 2023. Dressage and Cones will be hosted on July 22nd, and a 5 obstacle modified Marathon will be hosted on July 23rd. All are welcome to join us for this fun and exciting event!
